A Pair of Chinese Doucai 'Figural and Landscape' Moon Flask Vases, late Qing dynasty Marks: apocryphal six-character Chenghua mark 18-1/4 x 13-1/2 x 3 inches (46.4 x 34.3 x 7.6 cm) (each) each thickly potted vessel in moon-flask form, the neck flanked by a pair of chilong-form handles, each flattened side featuring a medallion, one depicting a mountain and river landscape with pavilions to the embankments, the reverse depicting beauties on horseback, with cartouches depicting the Twelve Zodiac to the sides, all reserved against a ground with diamond patterns and floral blooms, the recessed base displaying an apocryphal six-character Chenghua mark PROVENANCE: John Nelson Antiques, Los Angeles, California; Acquired from above.
