Provenance: From a private collection in Florida, USA.Description: This elegant vase follows the classic Yuhuchun form, featuring a flared rim, slender neck, rounded body, and raised foot. The graceful silhouette and balanced proportions reflect the refined aesthetic of Song Dynasty decorative ceramics, when this form was widely appreciated as an elegant vessel for floral display. The entire surface is covered with a black glaze decorated with the iconic tortoiseshell glaze technique of Jizhou Kiln. The firing process created naturally formed amber and yellow-brown patches of varying sizes, producing a rich pattern reminiscent of a tortoiseshell surface. The colors blend softly with organic transitions, creating a unique kiln-fired effect that cannot be exactly reproduced. The glossy glaze reveals subtle crackling and remarkable depth under changing light, demonstrating the exceptional artistry of Jizhou kiln craftsmen.
