Provenance: Private Collection, California, USA.Description: This Jun kiln bowl features a wide mouth, gently curved body, and a slightly recessed foot, presenting the balanced and elegant proportions characteristic of Jin and Yuan dynasty Jun ware. A dark brown protective glazed rim encircles the mouth, creating a refined contrast with the pale blue-green surface glaze. The entire vessel is covered in a thick and softly luminous moon-white Jun glaze, decorated with natural fine crackle patterns. Inside the bowl, several flowing cloud-like blue and purple kiln-transformed markings spread across the surface, resembling drifting clouds and creating the distinctive natural beauty of Jun ware. Subtle kiln effects, including fine brown kiln specks and flowing glaze traces, enhance the antique character of the piece. Near the foot, the glaze naturally gathers and runs downward, forming the classic accumulated glaze effect. The simply finished foot reveals a reddish-brown clay body with a dense texture, while the base preserves traces of the original firing process. Jun ware is especially celebrated for its unpredictable kiln transformation, and this bowl displays an elegant moon-white glaze complemented by vivid purple-blue markings, combining functional beauty with the refined aesthetic appeal of ancient Chinese ceramics.
