The elegant silhouette is smooth and well balanced. The double-gourd shape has long been regarded as an auspicious decorative form in Chinese tradition, symbolizing blessings, prosperity, and longevity. The entire surface is covered with a refined tea-dust glaze, displaying a warm and lustrous appearance. The glaze has a yellow-brown ground tone with delicate greenish-yellow crystalline speckles, creating a natural mottled texture and an elegant antique character. The glaze becomes slightly darker around the mouth rim, with a natural transition of color, while the interior is covered in the same glaze tone for a harmonious appearance. The foot is carefully finished, exposing a dense dark brown clay body with visible wheel marks on the base and traces of protective glaze along the edge. Tea-dust glaze is a sophisticated crystalline glaze technique that required great control during firing and was highly appreciated by scholars for its quiet, refined elegance, making it especially suitable for scholarly rooms and elegant interior displays.
