Provenance: Private Collection, New York, USADescription: This elegant Ming dynasty covered jar features a short straight neck, rounded shoulders, a full curved body, a gently tapered lower section, and a neatly finished foot, topped with a domed cover and a pearl-shaped finial. The compact and balanced form reflects the classic style of Ming dynasty storage vessels. The body is crafted from fine, dense porcelain clay and covered entirely with a bright, smooth white glaze. The decoration is executed in underglaze blue, displaying a refined and lively blue tone with delicate, flowing brushwork. The cover is decorated with scrolling floral motifs, while the finial also features blue decoration. The shoulder and lower section are adorned with dynamic crashing wave and rocky shore patterns, creating a sense of movement and rhythm.
