Provenance: Private Collection, Texas, USA.Description: This dish features a wide open rim and a shallow rounded body, representing a classic form of early Chinese everyday ceramics. The body is made of a coarse light beige clay, with a broad foot ring, simple trimming, and a recessed center on the base. Natural earth staining remains visible on the exposed clay area, preserving the original character from its firing process. The interior is covered with a warm white glaze with a soft ivory tone, showing subtle aged surface marks. The decoration is painted in cobalt blue, featuring a radiating pointed leaf pattern around the rim that extends inward, while five groups of dotted starburst motifs are arranged evenly across the center. The deep blue pigment, spontaneous brushwork, and balanced composition create a simple yet expressive aesthetic typical of folk ceramics. With its minimal decoration, rustic style, and strong historical character, this dish represents the distinctive artistic style of northern kiln white-ground blue painted wares and remains an attractive example for collectors of early Chinese ceramics.
