The upper body is compact and oval-shaped, while the lower body is full and rounded, creating a smooth and balanced silhouette. One side is fitted with a slender curved spout, while the opposite side features a broad double-layered handle with a curled end, offering both practicality and visual balance. The entire vessel is covered in a warm honey-yellow glaze with natural fine crackling and subtle variations in glaze flow, giving the surface rich depth and character. The exterior preserves clear wheel-made throwing lines, showing the craftsmanship of traditional ceramic production. The spout and handle are firmly attached to the body, reflecting the distinctive techniques of northern Chinese kilns. The foot is neatly finished, with the unglazed base revealing a dry yellowish clay body typical of Liao–Jin northern kiln wares. The gourd shape carries the auspicious meaning of “fortune and prosperity,” and this type of ewer was commonly used as a wine or water vessel during the period. With its strong northern aesthetic, warm glaze tone, and complete form, this piece represents the practical elegance of Liao–Jin yellow-glazed ceramics.
