The foot remains intact with three preserved firing support marks from the original kiln process, reflecting traditional Goryeo ceramic firing techniques. Provenance: Private Collection, California, USA,Description: This Goryeo period green-glazed deep bowl is a fine example of low-fired lead-glazed ceramics produced on the Korean Peninsula, reflecting the influence of Northern Dynasties and Sui-Tang applied decoration techniques while developing a distinctive Goryeo style. The bowl features an open mouth, deep rounded body, and a sturdy foot, creating a balanced and elegant silhouette. A raised pearl-link band encircles the exterior rim as a decorative division. The outer wall is decorated with three applied circular floral medallions formed by connected pearl motifs, each containing five raised bosses that create a strong three-dimensional effect. Additional small pointed bosses are scattered across the surface, giving the decoration a simple yet distinctive appearance. The entire vessel is covered in a soft grass-green lead glaze, showing natural variations between yellow-green and deeper green tones. The glaze surface displays fine crazing developed over centuries, creating a delicate ice-crack texture with a restrained and refined luster. The interior remains undecorated, with subtle traces of natural soil staining from age. The foot is carefully formed and fully glazed, preserving three small firing support marks from the original production process. The glaze and clay body are tightly bonded, with smooth transitions along the edges. Pearl-link and raised boss motifs traditionally symbolize continuity, prosperity, and good fortune, making this decoration one of the representative styles of Goryeo ceramics. With its elegant form, complex applied decoration, and rarity among surviving examples, this bowl represents an important work for the appreciation and study of East Asian ceramic history.
