Provenance: Private Collection, New York, USA，Description: This Northern Dynasties low-fired lead-glazed pottery bowl features a wide open mouth, gently curved body, and a short raised foot, presenting a balanced and elegant silhouette typical of early northern Chinese ceramics. The exterior is decorated with layered raised thorn-like bosses, framed by two rows of bead-shaped ridges. The carefully arranged conical projections create a strong three-dimensional effect, inspired by armor textures and lotus seed pod forms, representing a distinctive decorative style of the Northern Dynasties. The rim is also surrounded by a continuous ring of pointed projections, creating a unified and highly decorative appearance. The entire vessel is covered in a soft emerald-green lead glaze, with uneven glaze thickness producing natural variations of light and dark green tones. Fine age-related crazing covers the surface, together with an authentic aged patina developed over centuries. The interior is fully glazed, with deeper green tones at the base, along with original kiln traces and small firing residues. The simple foot retains traces of glaze accumulation, kiln marks, and soil staining, reflecting its ancient craftsmanship. Green-glazed vessels with thorn-pattern decoration are rare examples of Northern Dynasties ceramics, continuing the low-temperature glazing tradition of the Han period while displaying a bold northern aesthetic and strong sculptural character.
