The exterior is decorated with a vibrant yellow enamel ground and a charming “Magpies Celebrating Happiness on Plum Branches” design. Twisted plum branches extend gracefully around the surface, with delicate pink blossoms accented by green details, while several magpies perch among the branches with finely painted feathers and lively expressions. The “magpies and plum blossoms” motif symbolizes happiness, good fortune, and joyful occasions, making it a popular auspicious subject in late Qing imperial porcelain.
