The body is modeled after the form of a persimmon fruit, with softly rounded contours and raised sections that create a natural segmented fruit shape. The spout and handle are designed in a branch-like form, beautifully complementing the botanical theme, while the lotus-leaf style cover is topped with a sculpted stem finial and fitted with precision. The body is decorated on both sides with refined literati-style carving. One side features a “magpie on plum branch” scene, with delicate lines capturing the lively bird and blossoming branch, while the opposite side is carved with elegant calligraphic poetry, combining painting, carving, and literary expression. The base bears a circular maker’s seal. Combining naturalistic modeling with traditional Yixing scholar aesthetics, this teapot reflects the refined taste of Chinese literati culture. The persimmon symbolizes good fortune and fulfillment, while the magpie and plum blossom represent happiness and joyful occasions, making it a charming example of decorative Yixing zisha craftsmanship.
