拍品描述

Dimensions: H. 7.3 cm (2.87 in / 0.24 ft), 14th–15th Century，Condition & Provenance: Good overall condition with a naturally aged surface. The glaze remains smooth and luminous, with kiln traces, natural earth staining, and an aged patina consistent with long-term preservation. The exposed unglazed foot shows authentic firing characteristics and historical wear. Provenance: Private Collection, California, USA.Description:This small jar features a short straight mouth, rounded shoulders, a full body tapering gently toward the base, and an unglazed flat foot. Its compact and balanced form represents the typical storage vessel shape of the late Yuan to early Ming period. The body is covered with a white glaze and decorated in underglaze blue with multiple decorative bands. A scrolling vine pattern appears below the rim, while the central register presents a freely painted scene of pine and bamboo. The pine branches are strong and expressive, while the bamboo leaves are elegantly rendered with a spontaneous brush style. The blue pigment displays a soft grayish tone, reflecting the artistic character of early Yuan blue-and-white porcelain. The lower section is decorated with simplified upright lotus petals. The overall composition is well balanced, combining a relaxed painting style with a powerful sense of movement. The warm glaze, natural patina, and early blue-and-white characteristics make this an attractive example of early Chinese scholar’s ware, suitable for collection and display.
