Provenance: Private Collection, New York, USA.Description: This classic square Chuanlu-style Yixing teapot draws inspiration from the dignified form of ancient bronze ritual vessels. The body is constructed in a square form with a full, balanced silhouette and softly rounded corners rather than sharp edges. The fitted square lid rises gently and is topped with a smooth rounded finial, creating a harmonious and elegant profile. The spout extends upward with a powerful sweeping curve, while the thick circular handle provides a strong visual balance with the spout. Four raised feet support the base, giving the vessel a stable and refined presence. The body is decorated on two sides, one featuring elegant seal-script inscriptions with confident carved lines and a clear signature, while the other displays a lightly carved floral design with graceful leaves and simplified flowing lines. The base bears a square seal mark in regular seal script. Made from fine purple clay, the teapot has a deep warm color, delicate sandy texture, and a beautifully aged patina. Combining refined form, carved decoration, and exceptional clay quality, this piece represents a distinguished example of traditional Yixing teapot artistry, created for both appreciation and use.
