Provenance: Private Collection, New York, USA,Description: This Warring States period eye glass bead is an impressive and substantial example, featuring a rounded drum-like form with a deep blue glass body and a large central perforation. The wide opening retains heavy mineral deposits and natural wear from centuries of burial. The surface is decorated with layered composite eye motifs, each framed with seven colored dots forming a distinctive seven-star pattern. The decoration combines red, brown, white, and blue glass applications, with additional small circular accents creating a rich and dimensional surface design. Over centuries underground, the bead has developed a naturally weathered surface, areas of slight color loss, and a thick, authentic patina. Warring States eye beads were among the highest-level personal ornaments of the pre-Qin period. With its impressive size, complex decoration, and rarity, this example holds significant historical interest and strong collector appeal.
