Provenance: Private Collection, New York, USA.Description: This Warring States period eye bead features a compact oval form crafted from deep black-green glass with a large central perforation. The opening shows natural wear and accumulated soil deposits from centuries of burial. The surface is decorated with an elegant X-shaped division created by beige glass bands, separating sections filled with layered blue and white spiral eye patterns. The concentric eye motifs are clearly defined, with a striking contrast between the blue and white colors and a balanced, sophisticated composition. Having survived through centuries underground, the bead has developed a naturally weathered surface, aged patina, and traces of mineral erosion. Eye beads were among the most important high-level ornaments of the pre-Qin period, and this example stands out for its distinctive design, refined decoration, and strong historical and collectible value.
