The slightly irregular outline and surviving casting marks reflect the characteristics of early Chinese bronze coinage. The obverse features the ancient seal-script character “Gong,” with strong, archaic strokes typical of the calligraphic style of the Three Jin regions during the Warring States period. The surface displays rich red, green, and blue-green corrosion layers with a deep aged patina. The aperture retains natural finishing and wear, while the reverse remains undecorated with an original archaeological surface. Issued in the ancient Wei territory of Gongyi, this type of coin is considered a rare and important example within the early Chinese round coinage system. Its preserved inscription, authentic patina, and historical significance make it highly desirable for collectors and researchers of ancient Chinese currency.
