One side is decorated with a pair of upright chicken-head spouts, creating a lively sculptural effect, while the opposite side features a powerful dragon-form handle, with the dragon head resting along the rim and the curved body connecting the mouth and shoulder. A bridge-shaped lug is placed on the shoulder, and the exterior is carved with upward-facing lotus petal motifs, executed with clean and confident lines. The entire vessel is covered in a dark brown-black glaze, with rich variations of brown and black tones, scattered golden granular effects, and a warm, aged surface appearance. The exposed foot reveals a thick yellowish clay body with natural signs of aging. Combining molded sculpture, carved decoration, and an imposing architectural form, this ewer represents a remarkable type of large northern Chinese ceramic wine vessel. Its exceptional craftsmanship makes it highly suitable for both museum display and sophisticated private collections.
