The overall silhouette is substantial and elegant, with smooth and balanced curves. The entire vessel is covered in a rich brown glaze with a warm reddish-brown tone. The glossy surface is enhanced by naturally occurring fine brown “sesame seed” speckles formed during firing, creating a subtle yet sophisticated visual effect. The glaze is evenly applied with a refined aged appearance and a restrained antique character. The mouth rim and vessel body remain intact, while the exposed foot shows a robust clay texture and traces of traditional wheel finishing. Historically used for storing wine and liquids, this well-preserved example represents the classic northern kiln tradition of the Song and Jin periods. With its impressive form, calm glaze color, and strong decorative presence, it is highly suitable for elegant display and collection.
