From a private collection in New York, USA.Description: This exceptional ceremonial jade cup and stand set was carved from a single piece of Hetian jade (nephrite), featuring a deep green color, dense jade texture, natural dark mineral spots, and layered natural coloration developed over time. The surface has a warm, mature polish with a refined antique luster. The upper section is a double-eared jade cup with a slightly constricted body, raised waisted stem, and openwork chilong handles carved on both sides. The curling dragon-form handles are elegantly shaped with fluid lines and precise craftsmanship. The cup base is decorated with layered lotus petal motifs and bead-like borders, creating a sophisticated architectural effect. The lower stand is formed as a six-lobed floral shape, with finely carved scrolling cloud and vine patterns along the rim. The interior features high-relief dragons playing with a pearl, with powerful bodies winding through clouds, detailed scales and claws, surrounding the central lotus platform designed to securely hold the cup. The underside is fitted with four angular ruyi-shaped feet, giving the piece a balanced and substantial presence. Combining openwork carving, high relief sculpture, and shallow engraving techniques, this large-scale imperial jade object demonstrates exceptional craftsmanship and refined court aesthetics.
