Description:This is an imperial Doucai tea‑wine cup for court literati usage, dating to Chenghua reign of Ming dynasty. Slightly flared rim, gently rounded tapering body and low foot‑ring, elegant well‑proportioned form with fine thin white porcelain body. Two thin underglaze‑blue lines adorn outer rim, interior plain with smooth lustrous glaze. Exterior fully painted with narrative courtyard scene in Doucai style. A scholar stands amid bamboo grove, while a young boy respectfully presents flower branches. The setting includes bamboo, chrysanthemums, lotus pond, rockwork and balustrade, with scroll clouds and tree‑eave motifs above. Figures and landscapes are outlined in underglaze‑blue, filled with green, yellow and reddish‑brown enamels. Fluid cobalt outlines and layered soft enamels render vivid figures and well‑arranged composition with strong pictorial narrative. Six‑character reign mark “Da Ming Cheng Hua Nian Zhi” within blue square frame in regular script is painted on base. Surviving Chenghua Doucai wares with figure subject are quite rare. This small cup integrates literati theme with supreme imperial porcelain craftsmanship, representing outstanding artistic achievement of Ming Doucai, with great appreciative and collectible value.
