Description:This is an imperial blue‑and‑white bowl with interlocking precious floral scrolls of Chenghua reign, Ming dynasty. Wide slightly flared rim, gently curved body and well‑trimmed foot‑ring, fine thin porcelain body covered with creamy white glaze. Double underglaze‑blue lines decorate inner and outer rim. The bowl interior centre features a roundel of stylized precious flower within double blue circles. Both interior and exterior walls are painted with winding interlocking floral scrolls, plump curled petals and leaves arranged in balanced composition, executed with soft and free brushwork. Painted with classic Chenghua equality‑blue cobalt pigment, presenting soft elegant blue shade with natural wash transition. Base bears six‑character Chenghua reign mark within double blue circles in regular script. Precious floral pattern derives from Buddhist art, symbolizing holiness and prosperity. Surviving Chenghua blue‑and‑white wares of this motif are scarce. This bowl embodies typical aesthetic features of mid‑Ming imperial porcelain, possessing significant artistic and collectible value.
