The square lobed form is carefully constructed with a fitted cover, a gently raised domed lid, tapered sides, and a square foot, creating a refined shape originally used for storing precious items such as seal paste, jewelry, and personal objects in the scholar’s studio.The top of the cover features a framed scene decorated with colorful figures, depicting a lively narrative composition surrounded by landscape elements, rocks, and floral details. The exterior surfaces are richly painted with scrolling peony blossoms, featuring vivid red flowers, green leaves, and additional cloud and scroll borders.
