The proportions are balanced and dignified, reflecting the refined taste of Qing Dynasty scholar’s objects. Symmetrically placed on both sides are sculpted Tianji mythical ears, with outward-facing animal heads featuring finely carved details in the mane and facial expression. The bronze body has a rich warm chestnut-colored surface with a mature patina and naturally developed signs of age. The interior displays areas of green oxidation formed through years of use, enhancing its antique character. The base features a raised four-character seal-script mark reading “Wenge Zhenshang,” carefully cast within a square cartouche, with the inscription harmoniously matching the overall aged surface. With its refined casting technique, elegant archaic form, heavy bronze quality, and well-preserved patina, this piece represents an exceptional Qing Dynasty scholar’s incense burner for elegant display and ritual fragrance use.
