Provenance: Private Collection, New York, USA,Description: This Jun kiln rose-purple splashed folded-rim dish features a classic Song dynasty form with a wide folded rim, shallow curved body, and neatly finished foot. The elegant proportions and soft silhouette reflect the refined taste of Northern Song ceramic design. The entire vessel is covered with a rich Jun glaze, displaying a thick and glossy surface. The interior presents a sky-blue ground with large areas of rose-purple kiln transformation, where purple and blue tones blend naturally together. Fine crackle patterns spread across the glaze, creating a delicate and sophisticated surface texture. The folded rim and exterior display brilliant flowing purple and blue tones, with colorful kiln effects that appear naturally layered and luminous. The base is covered with a blue glaze and preserves three small spur marks, a typical firing characteristic of Jun ware. Jun ware is famous for its unpredictable kiln transformations — “one color entering the kiln, countless colors emerging.” This dish showcases rich glaze variation, naturally dispersed purple splashes, mature crackle, and excellent preservation, making it a remarkable example of Song dynasty Jun kiln artistry.
