It is fitted with an original carved red sandalwood cover decorated with a longevity character design, showing refined craftsmanship and serving as both a practical storage vessel and an elegant scholar’s object. The jar is covered in a luminous white glaze with a clean and polished surface. The exterior is painted in rich blue tones with the traditional “Three Friends of Winter” motif, featuring strong pine trees, elegant bamboo branches, and blooming plum blossoms arranged among rocks and landscape elements. The cobalt decoration displays graceful variation in tone, creating a striking contrast between blue and white, while the brushwork is confident and fluid. A key-fret border decorates the rim, with double-line bands near the base. The exposed foot area retains subtle traces of age and use, with a carefully finished foot and an old, refined character throughout. The “Three Friends of Winter” theme symbolizes integrity, resilience, and the noble qualities of a gentleman. With its elegant painting style, complete preservation, and rare original wood cover, this piece represents a refined example of Qing dynasty scholarly furnishings.
