The vessel is fitted with a beautifully modeled dragon-shaped handle extending from the rim toward the mouth, creating a powerful and dynamic silhouette. Two finely sculpted rooster-head spouts are placed on the shoulder, with openings through the beaks serving as pouring outlets. A pair of raised loop attachments adds both functional and decorative appeal. The body is carved throughout with overlapping lotus petal motifs, arranged in a rhythmic composition with strong, archaic lines. Covered in a deep black-brown glaze with subtle amber kiln variations, the surface displays a restrained brilliance and rich historical character. The exposed base reveals a coarse, warm earthen clay body typical of early northern Chinese ceramics. Combining a rare dragon handle, twin rooster-head spouts, and carved lotus decoration, this vessel represents a remarkable and highly collectible example of Northern Song high-fired ceramic art.
