Description:An imperial Qianlong famille‑rose conjoined (hehuan ping) covered vase for palace appreciation. Formed by two vessels joined together, with compressed neck, paired bulbous bodies and double‑lobed foot, fitted with two separate gilt‑finial covers, the whole rim gilded. One half of the vase is on sapphire‑blue sgraffito ground, the counterpart on ruby‑red sgraffito ground, both densely painted with scrolling multi‑coloured floral blooms and winding foliage in famille‑rose enamels. Ornamental friezes of ruyi‑heads and floral borders adorn neck and foot. Interior and base are covered in turquoise glaze, the base bears an iron‑red six‑character seal mark “Da Qing Qian Long Nian Zhi”. Ingenious in form, combining sgraffito engraving, gilding and multi‑ground enamel painting, it exemplifies the opulent craftsmanship of Qianlong imperial porcelain.
