拍品描述

Dimensions:H.33cm Condition & Provenance:Completely intact, no cracks or chips, lustrous glaze, natural age wear on oval foot ring. Formerly private collection of Evan Hansen, Los Angeles, California, U.S.A. Acquired in the 1960s, passed down within family estate. Never offered at public auction, no exhibition or publication records. Description:A fine official blue‑and‑white moon‑shaped flask of Yongle reign, Ming dynasty. Short straight neck decorated with scrolling foliage and interlocking lotus scrolls. The body is flattened globular form, supported by shallow oval foot. Both sides of body are fully painted with interlocking seasonal flower scrolls, featuring chrysanthemum, peony and pomegranate bloom. Blossoms and leaves interlace with winding vines, densely arranged with distinct layering. The cobalt pigment is rich‑toned with natural diffusion and characteristic iron speckles of Yongle porcelain, rendered in powerful, fluid brushwork. The body is compact and solid, covered by soft bluish‑white glossy glaze. This flask shape derives from west Asian metalwork, an imperial display vessel born from early‑Ming cultural exchange, rare in surviving examples.
