Acquired in Hong Kong in the 1950s, family descent. No prior public auction, publication or exhibition records. Description：This fine official‑ware lobed bowl is a representative masterpiece of Xuande‑era Ming porcelain. The bowl has a foliated lobed rim and melon‑shaped body, raised on a neatly trimmed foot ring. The base bears the six‑character “Da Ming Xuande Nian Zhi” reign mark within double blue circles. Both interior and exterior are painted with lively fish‑and‑lotus‑pond motifs. Multiple fish swim freely amid dense lotus leaves, blooms, water weeds and duckweed, rendered with bold, fluid brushwork. Two fish are depicted within the central medallion inside the bowl. Utilising characteristic Xuande imported cobalt pigment, the blue colour is saturated with natural iron rust spots. The fish‑aquatic motif symbolises surplus and prosperity. Well‑potted, finely painted and bearing authentic period mark, intact lobed fish‑algae bowls of Xuande reign are exceedingly rare, standing as an important collecting example of Ming imperial blue‑and‑white porcelain.
