Acquired overseas in 1970s, family descent. No prior public auction, publication or exhibition records. Description:This stem bowl is a classic imperial porcelain vessel from early Ming Yongle reign. It features flared mouth, curved body and hollow tall stem with elegant silhouette. Exterior is painted with scrolling grape vines with full‑bodied leaves and plump grape clusters rendered in meticulous detail. The stem is decorated with scrolling lingzhi scrollwork. Interior central medallion within double circle bears a pomegranate sprig, encircled by continuous scrolling lingzhi scrolls, inner‑and‑outer decoration well‑coordinated. Imported “Sumatran” cobalt‑blue pigment yields rich saturated tone with characteristic iron rust spots. The glaze is lustrous and slightly bluish‑white with fine dense porcelain body. Hollow stem shows typical firing‑induced rust‑red patina on foot rim. Grapes and pomegranate symbolize fertility and numerous offspring, a favoured auspicious theme of Yongle‑Xuande imperial wares. Well‑preserved stem bowls of this pattern are quite rare.
