拍品描述
Dimensions: H. 38 cm (14 7/8 in), 14th Century, Yuan Dynasty Condition & Provenance: Condition: Fully intact, no cracks or restoration. Natural fine crazing across glaze surface; green and underglaze‑red pigments exhibit rich varied tonality. Incised white‑dragon relief details remain sharp. All four shoulder loops intact. Flat sandy base retains authentic Yuan‑period tool‑marks and deep aged patina. Provenance: Historic private collection, Vienna, Austria. Acquired 1935, consigned for auction by family estate in 2026. Description: A exceedingly rare Yuan‑dynasty polychrome flat flask derived from nomadic leather‑bag prototypes. Short cylindrical neck, broad flattened rectangular body, four robust suspension loops symmetrically moulded to shoulders. Both principal faces covered in variegated green‑and‑underglaze‑red ground, over which a powerful white‑bodied dragon is deeply incised in relief, weaving through swirling incised cloud scrolls. Side walls finished in plain pale bluish‑white glaze. Wares combining underglaze‑red with overglaze green were notoriously difficult to fire in the Yuan period, and surviving examples are extremely few. This piece unites rare colour technology, archaic nomadic form and imperial‑grade dragon iconography, placing it among the highest‑tier surviving Yuan porcelains.
