The qilin is an auspicious mythical beast symbolizing peace and prosperity. Large flared‑rim dishes of this type were made for imperial banquets and overseas export during the Yuan era, with extremely low firing success rate. This imposing example retains sharp, well‑preserved primary imagery with sophisticated balanced layout. Complete comparable specimens are rare, ranking among top‑tier Yuan blue‑and‑white collector pieces.
