The Hetian jade is fine and warm in texture, with a soft and natural luster and a patina accumulated over time. Minor surface wear is visible, consistent with long-term veneration and display, but the carving is complete; the spiral curls of the hair, details of the robes, and the medicine bowl are clearly visible. Provenance: Private collection, California, USA. Description: This Medicine Buddha statue is exquisitely carved from Hetian jade, with a warm and delicate texture and a soft, light greenish-white hue. The jade is thick and evenly shaped, with a smooth surface and an elegant, understated luster. The Buddha is in a classic cross-legged sitting posture. The topknot is high on the head, adorned with finely carved spiral curls, each strand meticulously crafted and evenly arranged, conforming to traditional Buddhist sculpting standards. The Buddha statue has a full and serene face, with lowered eyebrows, slightly closed eyes, long earlobes, and a compassionate and peaceful expression. The Buddha wears a monk's robe, the kasaya (Buddhist monastic robe) draped over the shoulders.
