拍品描述
Dimensions: 19.3 cm (7.6 inches) in diameter, 281 g in weight, 5th-3rd century BC. Condition and Provenance: This piece is in excellent overall condition, retaining its original circular shape. The surface shows natural weathering, mineral deposits, an aged patina, and signs of aging. Minor surface wear is consistent with its age and historical use. Provenance: Private collection, New York, USA. Description: This blue glass double disc is 19.3 cm in diameter and weighs 281 g. It follows the traditional double disc shape, being flat and circular with a central perforation, and of uniform and fine thickness. The entire surface exhibits a rich sapphire blue hue, the glass is translucent, and the internal luster is understated. The disc is divided into several decorative areas, with a raised, interlocking cloud pattern around the outer edge. Continuous swirling patterns are carved in an archaic and balanced style, forming a rhythmic composition on the surface. The inner walls remain largely untouched, displaying naturally formed weathering textures, mineral staining, and layers of gray, brown, and earthy tones of age. These weathering features have naturally permeated the glass body, while the edges of the central opening and the outer edge reveal traces of long-term aging and wear. Both sides retain realistic weathering characteristics, with naturally soft edges and an overall intact structure. This glass ritual object, modeled after an ancient jade bi disc, exhibits extraordinary colors, a rich surface history, and a profound sense of antiquity.
