Dimensions: Height 20 cm (7.9 inches), Mouth Diameter 9.5 cm (3.7 inches), 11th-13th century. Condition and Provenance: This vase is in excellent overall condition and retains its original shape. The glaze retains its natural characteristics, including subtle firing marks and small, dark mineral spots characteristic of the kiln firing process. The unglazed foot rim exposes the white porcelain body, with naturally formed earthy stains and dark deposits formed over time. Provenance: Private collection, Hong Kong. Description: This celadon five-petal vase is 20 cm high and 9.5 cm in diameter at the mouth. The mouth is gracefully shaped into five petals, decorated with elegant flared patterns, while the raised decoration on the inner rim outlines a lively silhouette. The slender neck is proportionally balanced, with subtle horizontal ridges that flow smoothly into the rounded body. The body of the vase is melon-shaped, with crisscrossing carved lines creating a rhythmic and sculptural surface. The flared foot rim is decorated with chrysanthemum-shaped vertical lines, echoing the melon-petal pattern on the body of the vase, creating a harmonious and unified overall composition. The entire vase is covered in a bluish-white glaze, the color soft and elegant, with a warm, translucent texture and delicate luster. Fine, dark mineral particles are visible on the glaze surface, reflecting the characteristics of Song Dynasty firing techniques.
