Dimensions: Height 64 cm (25.2 inches), Width 44 cm (17.3 inches), Weight 10.3 kg (22.7 lbs), 18th-century Tibetan Buddhist sculpture. Condition and Provenance: Overall well-preserved, with most of the original gilding still intact. The surface exhibits natural wear and an antique patina consistent with its age. The turquoise, lapis lazuli, and other gemstone inlays are largely intact. The sealed base and original antique cloth cover are well-preserved. Provenance: From a private collection in California, USA, acquired from the estate of a long-term collector. Description: This magnificent gilt bronze Vajrasattva statue is an outstanding example of Qing dynasty Tibetan Buddhist sculpture. Standing 64 cm tall and weighing 10.3 kg, the statue is crafted from refined bronze and adorned with exquisite fire gilding, exhibiting a warm golden hue and an impressively solemn presence. Vajrasattva sits atop a double lotus pedestal. The face is serene and peaceful, exquisitely sculpted, with a gentle expression, long, narrow eyes, and a raised vajra on the forehead. The high-piled hair is adorned with dark paint, and long ribbons gracefully drape over the shoulders. The upper body is elegantly bare, adorned with exquisite necklaces, armlets, bracelets, and anklets. The entire statue is inlaid with turquoise, lapis lazuli, and other gemstones, exuding a luxurious and solemn feel. The right hand forms a mudra at the chest, while the left hand holds a vajra and a begging bowl, showcasing the traditional image of Vajrasattva. The proportions are harmonious, the lines soft and realistic, and the drapery flowing. The back is engraved with an eight-petaled Dharma wheel pattern, and the lower edge is decorated with intricate jewel motifs. The sealed base retains the original antique fabric, bearing the marks of time. This sculpture is a masterpiece of Tibetan Buddhist art, with its superb craftsmanship, natural gilding, complete gemstone decorations, and magnificent presence.
