Purchased from the North American antiques market and held by a private collector for many years. Description: This painted terracotta goose figurine is 23 cm high, 22 cm long, and weighs 719 g. The body is made of terracotta, and the feet are cast in bronze, forming a unique assembly structure. The goose figurine is extremely realistic, with a long, upright neck, a slightly extended head, a beak painted red, and finely detailed, lifelike eyes. The figurine's body is light gray with meticulously drawn black lines outlining layered feather patterns, vividly showcasing the texture and rhythm of goose feathers. The neck retains blue and green pigments, while centuries of burial have left natural weathering marks on its surface, accompanied by soil deposits and pigment loss. Two square openings at the bottom of the body were reserved for attaching bronze feet, reflecting its original modular structure. The matching bronze feet have a greenish sheen, with finely sculpted toes that fit perfectly to the figurine's feet, allowing it to stand upright. This work skillfully combines realistic sculpture with various materials, making it an outstanding representative of ancient Chinese funerary animal figurines.
