The original lid is intact, and the base retains the European Collection label. Provenance: Private collection, California, USA; originally an important overseas private collection, bearing the S. Marchant & Son Collection label, with a detailed provenance. Description: This large Yuan Dynasty Hutian kiln celadon ewer is an outstanding example of exquisite ceramic craftsmanship and is truly rare. The body is thick and elegantly pear-shaped, with a long neck, a curved spout, and the original lid. The exposed foot reveals the solid clay body with the characteristic iron-red firing marks of Yuan Dynasty ceramics. The base bears the S. Marchant & Son Collection label, reflecting its illustrious overseas collection history. This vessel features a long, curved spout on one side, connected to the neck by an elegant S-shaped scroll pattern. The other side boasts a beautifully shaped handle adorned with floral and scrolling patterns, and includes a small ring for securing the lid. The original arched lid is topped with a finely carved mythical beast-shaped knob, adding to its lively beauty. Both sides of the body are decorated with peach-shaped openwork patterns, surrounded by raised cloud and scrolling patterns. Within the openwork, lifelike scenes of children playing are depicted, each figure displaying a unique posture and vivid expression. The layered openwork carving, raised patterns, and molded details showcase the exquisite craftsmanship of Yuan dynasty ceramic artisans. The entire piece is covered in a soft, bluish-white glaze, smooth and delicate. The exposed raised patterns subtly reveal a warm earthy hue, creating an elegant contrast with the glaze. This Yuan dynasty porcelain is extremely rare to find today, possessing both artistic and historical value.
