拍品描述

Dimensions: 52 cm (20.5 inches) high, late 17th to early 18th century, weight: unknown, condition and provenance: generally in good condition. The porcelain body is well-preserved, the glaze is smooth, and the famille rose decoration is clearly visible. The later-added bronze fittings show natural signs of age, and the base retains several overseas collection and auction labels, documenting its acquisition history. Provenance: Private collection, California, USA. Description: This exquisite Kangxi period famille rose vase, 52 cm high, represents the essence of Qing dynasty court porcelain decoration. With its flared mouth, tapering neck, rounded shoulders, and cylindrical body, the vase possesses a graceful overall shape, making it an ideal choice for elegant interior decoration. This piece was later modified overseas, fitted with intricately crafted bronze fittings, including openwork scrollwork rims, cast ram's head handles on the shoulders, and openwork scrollwork bronze bases, reflecting the popular trend among European collectors at the time of adapting Chinese porcelain for Western interior decoration. The vase is glazed in an elegant turquoise color and decorated with an intricate famille rose "Nine Peaches of Longevity" motif. Ancient peach tree branches meander and coil above the vase, their layers of verdant leaves and large, ripe peaches depicted in vibrant colors, transitioning from deep red to soft pink and white, surrounded by delicate blossoms. The interlacing branches symbolize good fortune and longevity. The intricate yet balanced decoration showcases the exquisite painting techniques of the Kangxi period. The base is glazed white and bears a six-character underglaze blue mark in regular script: "Made in the Kangxi Reign of the Great Qing Dynasty." The well-preserved overseas auction label further highlights its historical value. This exquisite vase blends the artistic style of Qing Dynasty court porcelain with European bronze inlay, making it a remarkable masterpiece of large-scale decorative art.
