拍品描述
Dimensions: Height 6 cm (2.36 inches), maximum diameter 10.2 cm (4.02 inches), Tang Dynasty, 7th-10th century. Condition and Provenance: Well-preserved, with natural crackling in the glaze, retaining the dripping effect of kiln firing, and the exposed clay base showing signs of age. Provenance: Private collection, Florida, USA. Description: This Tang Dynasty low-temperature fired lead-glazed sancai bowl features a classic rounded shape, with a slightly inward-curving rim, a rounded edge, and a full, rounded body, resulting in a compact and symmetrical overall profile. Two fine reddish-brown lines adorn the rim. The entire bowl is covered in sancai glaze, with a bright yellow glaze at the upper rim that flows naturally downwards into ivory-colored drips, eventually merging with a rich cobalt blue glaze. During firing, the glazes naturally fused, creating a natural and elegant dripping effect with rich color layers. The overall body exhibits delicate natural crackling, a typical characteristic of lead-glazed ceramics formed over hundreds of years. The interior is glazed in a warm brownish-yellow hue, transitioning gradually from a golden yellow near the rim to a deep brown in the center, presenting a soft and rustic texture. The flat bottom exposes a large expanse of light-colored clay, showcasing a dry, mature texture and the natural wear and tear of time. The unglazed base reflects the traditional techniques of Tang Dynasty sancai (three-color glaze) firing. Blue and white glaze is the most precious glaze in Tang Dynasty sancai firing, and this piece perfectly demonstrates the vibrant, free-spirited spirit and exquisite kiln firing techniques of Tang Dynasty ceramics.
