Description: This gilt bronze incense burner from the Xuande period is an outstanding example of Ming Dynasty ritual and decorative bronze craftsmanship. The incense burner is 27 cm high and weighs 4212 g, with a square inscription "Made in the Xuande period of the Great Ming Dynasty" on the base. The incense burner consists of an openwork domed lid, a cylindrical body, and a base. The lid is decorated with a lotus-shaped ornament, and the body is intricately carved with dragon motifs intertwined among branches and leaves. The dragon's body is incredibly lifelike, with every scale, horn, whiskers, and form meticulously crafted, exuding a majestic aura. The openwork design allows the incense smoke to rise gracefully, adding to its charm. The body of the censer is adorned with intricately carved lotus and scroll patterns, gilded and raised, and decorated with the Eight Auspicious Symbols: the Dharma wheel, conch shell, parasol, victory banner, lotus flower, vase, goldfish, and endless knot. The gilded decoration contrasts sharply with the deep bronze background, creating a striking visual effect. The base is supported by three elephant-head-shaped feet, each powerfully sculpted with exquisite detail. The entire censer combines openwork carving, high relief, and gilding techniques, showcasing the majesty of the dragon and the auspicious symbolism of Buddhism. This is a magnificent ceremonial censer, a true gem among classical collectibles.
