Description: This square brush washer with Ge ware glaze measures 13.2 cm in diameter and 9 cm in height. The body is square with rounded, concave corners, a slightly flared rim, and a slightly narrower inner wall. The four feet are gracefully shaped like ruyi (a traditional Chinese symbol of good fortune). Its balanced form and refined contours make it an ideal choice for display and use in a traditional scholar's study. The entire vessel is covered in a warm beige Ge ware glaze, with abundant natural crackle patterns. The surface exhibits interwoven ice crackle textures with a clear gold thread effect, creating a refined and highly decorative aesthetic. The glaze on the rim is thinner, exhibiting the classic "purple lip" characteristic, while the exposed foot rim reveals the deeper body color characteristic of traditional Ge ware aesthetics. The interior of the vessel is smooth and flat, also covered with a crackle glaze, harmonizing with the exterior glaze. The base is also covered with a visible crackle glaze, while the ends of the four feet remain exposed. This piece, with its understated glaze and elegant shape, embodies the refined taste of literati and is a model of Qing dynasty imitation Ge ware porcelain, crafted specifically for scholars and gentlemen.
