Dimensions: 22.5 cm (8.86 in) in height, 3.6 cm (1.42 in) in diameter at the mouth, 13th-14th century. Condition and Provenance: This meiping vase is in excellent condition and well-preserved. The body is decorated with dragon and cloud patterns in red and green glaze, showing signs of age and slight wear. The unglazed base reveals the typical coarse, sandy body of the Yuan dynasty. There are no obvious cracks or signs of repair, nor any modern repainting or restoration. All paint layers and the body retain the authentic traces of an ancient workshop. This red and green glazed dragon-patterned meiping vase comes from a renowned private collection in Los Angeles specializing in early Chinese polychrome porcelain. Well-preserved Yuan dynasty red and green glazed meiping vases are exemplary works of early Chinese polychrome porcelain. The classic meiping vase shape features a short neck, slender shoulders, and a narrower lower body. The exterior is decorated with lifelike coiled dragons in iron-red and emerald-green glaze, surrounded by clouds, painted with free and unrestrained brushstrokes characteristic of Yuan dynasty folk ceramic painting. The exposed sandy foot reveals the original ceramic body. A well-preserved Yuan Dynasty red and green dragon-patterned plum blossom vase is quite rare in private collections. This vase provides irreplaceable material evidence for the study of the origin and development of Chinese overglaze painting, Yuan Dynasty dragon patterns, and folk kiln firing techniques, and has extremely high exhibition value, ceramic history research value, and high-end antique collection value.
