Description: This Tang dynasty green-glazed covered jar originated from a kiln site in northern China. The body is rounded and full, with a pearl-shaped knob on the lid and a beaded decoration on the rim. The exterior of the jar is decorated with molded floral, beaded, and scrolling leaf patterns, creating a balanced and rich composition. The entire body is covered with a vibrant emerald green glaze, exhibiting fine, natural crackles. The foot exposes the unglazed body, revealing the rough texture of the ceramic. Molding is a unique decorative technique used in Tang dynasty low-temperature lead-glazed porcelain. The vibrant colors and intricate patterns perfectly embody the unrestrained aesthetic tastes of Tang Dynasty China. This piece is highly prized for both its aesthetic appeal and practicality among Tang Dynasty lead-glazed porcelain. Its patina and crackle patterns, formed naturally over hundreds of years, are extremely rare in their current state.
