Description: This exquisite Longquan celadon vase faithfully reproduces the shape of an ancient bronze fruit vessel, one of the most admired forms among the antique-style vessels revived during the Southern Song Dynasty. The vase has a wide, trumpet-shaped mouth, a slender, tapering neck, clearly defined rims in the middle and lower sections, and a gracefully extended foot. The overall silhouette is elegant and architecturally beautiful. The meticulously carved rim imitates the protruding rims of early bronze ritual vessels, while the restrained contours reflect the refined taste of Song Dynasty literati. The vase is glazed inside and out with a lustrous, pale celadon glaze, exhibiting the soft, jade-like texture characteristic of Longquan ware. The glaze naturally thins along the rim and the raised edge of the body, subtly highlighting the clear contours of the vessel. The exposed foot reveals a rich, pale yellow body with the distinctive firing marks of Longquan ware. This vase was formed on a wheel and features exquisite rim decoration, successfully blending the solemnity of ancient bronze ritual vessels with the understated elegance of Song Dynasty celadon. Its beautiful shape makes it suitable for flower arranging, as well as for decorating an elegant study or hall. It has long been hailed as one of the outstanding representatives of the refined taste of Song Dynasty literati and the ceramic craftsmanship of Longquan ware.
