Description: This exquisite covered storage jar is a classic example of Yuan dynasty Longquan celadon. The jar retains the original flat lid, which fits perfectly. The body is gracefully drum-shaped, with a balanced and dignified overall form. Two intricately carved raised base decorations, inspired by ancient Chinese bronzes, give the jar a unique architectural beauty. The entire piece is covered in a richly lustrous Longquan celadon glaze, a soft olive-green color with naturally formed golden crackles, making it beautiful and captivating. The glaze transitions naturally at each raised section, revealing a warm, flint-red sheen. This sheen also appears at the rim and foot, showcasing the classic bare-bodied effect of Longquan ceramics. The interior is glazed in the same celadon color, revealing concentric wheel-thrown patterns, demonstrating the exquisite craftsmanship of its handcrafting. The wide foot is meticulously finished, while the concave bottom retains original firing marks, natural clay deposits, and traces of time. This piece, wheel-thrown, adorned with hand-decorated raised sections, and fired in a single high-temperature kiln, fully demonstrates the superb skills of Yuan Dynasty Longquan ceramic artists. It could have been used to hold tea, medicinal herbs, or other valuables, or served as an elegant decorative piece. This jar is well-preserved, with its original lid, and is an excellent example of Yuan Dynasty Longquan celadon.
