The lid fits perfectly, and the box is free of cracks, repairs, or major damage. The molded floral decoration is clear and complete, and the translucent celadon glaze retains a soft and charming luster. Description: This exquisite vanity box is shaped like a natural melon, consisting of a perfectly fitting lid and a matching body. The domed lid is topped with a small stem-like ornament, and both the lid and body are divided into multiple melon segments, creating a lifelike sculptural effect. Both the interior and exterior are glazed with the elegant pale blue-white celadon glaze renowned for its Jingdezhen Hutian kiln. The sides of the lid are decorated with shallow relief chrysanthemum and floral patterns, while the body is adorned with corresponding scrolling foliage, creating a harmonious and balanced composition. The delicate patterns are subtly revealed beneath the translucent glaze, a typical characteristic of the Hutian Kiln craftsmanship. The interior of the box is glazed with a fine white glaze, showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship of Song Dynasty porcelain. Naturally deposited soil and signs of age are visible inside, consistent with porcelain unearthed from the same period. This box was made using a molding process, finely polished, glazed with a bluish-white glaze, and fired at high temperature. Originally used to store face powder, rouge, spices, or medicinal herbs, it was an elegant ornament on the dressing table of upper-class women in the Song Dynasty.
