Description: This exquisite Song-Yuan dynasty Jingdezhen celadon tripod incense burner is a rare large sacrificial vessel, 27 cm high and 22 cm in diameter. Its shape imitates an ancient bronze sacrificial tripod, blending the exquisite craftsmanship of ceramics with the solemnity of early Chinese bronzes. The incense burner features a wide, flared rim, a raised handle, a rounded body, three carved animal feet, and a molded ring handle connecting to the animal-face ornaments. The entire surface is covered with a fine celadon glaze, presenting a soft blue-green hue, with a delicate texture and a bright luster. Naturally formed signs of age and subtle surface textures further enhance its historical charm. The body is decorated with multiple layers of carved and molded patterns. The sides are decorated with drooping banana leaf patterns, interspersed with scrolling foliage, creating a balanced and exquisite composition. The openwork vertical handles, resembling a bronze tripod, support a movable ring on the front with an animal-face patterned panel, showcasing superb ceramic shaping techniques. The three sculpted animal feet are powerfully shaped, with vivid facial expressions and sharp claws, supporting the heavy body of the vessel, creating a magnificent presence. The interior retains dark incense residue from long-term sacrificial use, reflecting its original ritual function. This large, celadon-white tripod incense burner, originally made for temples or halls, is a perfect combination of ancient sacrificial aesthetics, Jingdezhen ceramic innovation, and exquisite decorative craftsmanship.
