Description: This large blue-and-white four-handled teapot from the Republic of China period, decorated with a rock and peony motif, is a folk-made porcelain piece used for household water storage and tea brewing. The body is thick and jar-shaped, with a short, straight spout and four handles for attaching a rope. The interior rim is decorated with a meander pattern. The vessel is decorated with peony blossoms growing among rugged rocks. The lush peony branches and leaves, along with the hand-painted rock textures, showcase a simple, folk aesthetic. The wide foot rim, solid earthenware body, and pale blue glaze are typical characteristics of practical folk kiln wares. The peony motif symbolizes wealth and good fortune. This type of four-eared jar was widely used in ordinary households during the Republic of China period. Today, well-preserved large surviving examples are rare, making this vessel an important material for studying folk ceramic craftsmanship and daily life during the Republic of China era.
