拍品描述
Dimensions: 53.5 cm (21.06 inches) in diameter, 2350 g in weight, 15th century. Condition and Provenance: The plate has an ancient, continuous crack running from the center outwards; no material is missing. Most of the engraved patterns, including the central Bodhisattva, attendant figures, cloud patterns, and ritual implements, are still clearly visible. The surface is covered with a thick layer of age marks, and some engraved lines have faded due to age. There are minor chips on the outer edge. The reverse retains the original hammer marks. There are no signs of modern additions or later welding repairs. This plate is from a private collection in Seattle, Washington, USA, and was acquired in 2015 with the assistance of an antique dealer in Bangkok. Complete provenance and original multi-angle photographs are well preserved. Description: This 15th-century round bronze lid, decorated with a Bodhisattva image, is an original consecration seal for a large Tibetan Buddhist image, hammered from bronze sheet. The central Bodhisattva is carved, surrounded by attendant Bodhisattvas, against a background of dense cloud patterns and ritual implements. The entire piece features flowing, graceful lines and dense carvings. It was once used as a base for a Buddha statue, used to hold blessed items. Despite ancient cracks, the imagery remains intact. Its large size makes it an important reference artifact for studying 15th-century Tibetan Buddhist blessing customs, metal carving techniques, and the Buddhist iconography system.
